Figures reveal that given the choice, most men will plump for a curvy girl
Woohoo. Check it here.
(Though isn’t it odd that the girl on the right here is even referred to as curvy these days?)
And thanks Candy For Monkeys for the post.

Just as I thought ! But how come you don’t, then … ?
I do. Every time. Can’t speak for the others, sadly… But thanks for the Comment!
WOW the one on the right is incredibly gorgeous, look at the one on the left shess so skinny its almost nasty, in the middle is good, on the right is AMAZING.
Ok.. i am a girl so my opinion of what looks good might be different than guys.. but i think the one on the left looks good.. the one in the middle is ok… but the one on the right (i think) is bigger than neccesary
well im a girl and i think the middle and right are perfect. the one on the left needs to gain some weight.
Thanks for your comments everyone. Interesting mix of opinions, too.
In my opinion the one on the right looks beautiful, but to be fair to the woman on the left not all women will put on weight in the right places and will wind up looking like the middle and right girl. the girl on the left looks like she wont put weight on her legs and hips like the others. if she gains she’ll have a bigger face and upper body and (still) thin legs. she’ll be top heavy.
not all women will have hourglass curvy shapes even when they weigh enough to.
also, the middle and right girls have prettier faces, so it’s a little skewed. they should have 3 girls of similar facial beauty at different weights, OR 3 girls who are top heavy (the same body type of the left girl) at different weights.
hmm i just read the study and they dont seem to realize that women come in a variety of body shapes, not just sizes. there’s more to women than the two dimensional apple-shaped versus pear-shaped model, so they shouldnt stereotype women as all having the possiblity of getting a lovely body like the one on the right., and those who dont are skinny, unhealthy anorexics.
[...] 11, 2008 at 9:14 am (blogs, cool stuff) (bbw, women’s body types) Ok, one of my posts is! This one here. It’s essentiually just a reblog about women’s body types, but it’s generated a [...]
the girl on the right is the sexiest. any man who disagrees is not straight.
the girl on the left looks like a stick!
How about they’re ALL pretty. Jesus people, there are pretty skinny girls and pretty “big” girls and pretty in-between girls. I find myself on the bigger end of that particular spectrum and I know I’m pretty, but I also know my best friend, who is a 0 and has trouble keeping 100 pounds is beautiful too. I mean, get a grip people, they’re all healthy looking.
The one on the right has fantastic curves. The other two are ok, and forgettable if seen in a crowd. I’d be dreaming of the curvy one for months.
The one in the middle is just right in my opinion. The one on the left looks like a little girl, and the one on the right looks good, but not as good as the one in the middle
I personally think the girl in the middle is perfect. The girl on the right is beautiful too,but the one on the left is just digusting.
[...] I do believe the number of men who prefer a larger female form are higher than we realise. I have a post here on that very topic. And, whiel this may or may not be a telling statistic, next to Gay porn, the [...]
hehe now im happy to read that so many prefer the girl to the right (thats the kind of body i got….kinda) ^^lll i have a bad self-confidence so this made me feel a lil better :3
Glad to hear it, carin
Why doe’s everyone pick on skinny girls when they are probally the ones that are more self concious then bigger girls. In my opinion there’s too much sympathy for bigger girls and too much slating for thinner girls. Some girls are naturally thin and those girls are the best! The girl everyone wants to be. The ideal figure here is probally somewhere between the 1st girl and the 2nd. NOT the 3rd who seems to have a sympathy vote from alot of you. All figures are attractive to different people. Slim girls..you are all very lucky and you know you have the best figures overall. Don’t listen to the bitter or jealous people that say bigger is better.
I don’t think people pick on thin girls, I think that’s the whoel point. It’s easy to get a different idea looking at a post like this which is, admittedly, biased toward bigger girls. But in the big bad world thin is in, and large women have a hard time.
And no, not everyone wants to be those thin girls. I don’t think people posting comments here have synpathy for the bigger girl, I think if they say they like her they genuinely like her. Isn’t is sad, though, that the third figure above is even refered to as big these days?
As always, thanks for the comment.
i rekon they are all pretty but nobody should dicriminate against the one on the right … whats wrong with curves ??
This issue is so complex.
The frustrating thing is that many women feel presurised to look like the women on the left or in the middle and fashion models and publishers are at the forefront of the ones leading this campaign. Young teenagers look at the fashion magazines or modles on the cat walks and see the latest fashions are being worn by models who are starving themselves to conform.
The crazy thing is that the woman on the right is so incredibly sexy and attractive and very healthy looking and speaking as a man, she is the only one that I would look twice at from the selection available and you will find that the majority of men would share that feeling. I have known so many women who have put themselves down because they have believed they are too big because they can’t fit into size 10 (UK) clothes, when in truth they look great as they are and they lose much of their sex appeal when they drop these sizes!
Of course it can also go to much in the opposite direction when to much weight becomes a serious health issue and I tend to find that women who are a size 12/14 (UK sizes) tend to have the right balance.
I’m a girl and in my opinion the girl in the middle looks the best.
i’m a girl, and i think the girl on the right looks amazing. think about it. girls like the left are physiologically like guys. there’s no difference in figure that differentiates her from them.
Good point, Kshama
I think they are all very healthy looking girls.
The one on the left looks slightly underweight, but it may just be her figure, she is a good looking girl despite that. The one in the middle looks great, and the girl on the right has lovely curves, and she looks very healthy..not overweight at all.
It is very true that curvy girls get a hard time, because thin is definitely in, which is lucky for naturally thin girls, but unlucky for young girls that think everyone should look like that. I personally would like to see a much wider variety of models, encompassing many different beautiful figures.
The girl on the left is too skinny, the girl on the middle is perfect, the one on the right is a little overweight.
Thanks everyone
As a guy, I’m surprised that anyone is surprised by this. As the article says, this is not news for guys. We can’t understand why women put themselves through so much agony to get rid of their most womanly body parts. I think part of the problem is magazines such as Cosmo and Glamour, which thrive on women’s insecurity about their weight (as well as other “flaws”). Being fairly slim myself, I’m not a fan of knocking thin people, but the extent to which those magazines are skewed is ridiculous. Keep in mind that those models are not just thin, but also taller than average, which makes them seem even thinner than they are. And on top of that, they are Photoshopped into oblivion! (For the record, though, the picture in this article is also Photoshopped. If you don’t know how ubiquitous this has become, do a search on YouTube.) Want to be attractive? Be proud of however you happen to look right now, and carry yourself in a manner that shows it. Don’t just focus on how thin you plan to be in six months. Stop dieting (unless your current weight is dangerous!) and start eating a healthy diet. Your “healthy glow” comes from your health. Don’t believe the lie that happiness and attractiveness are mutually exclusive.
well said, anon, and thanks
