A Few Days Off
The Road
Thanks to my friend Neil (who I’d link to here if he had a blog or site) I started reading The Road, by Cormac McCarthy the other day. Very odd style of writing, with no quotations on the dialogue and a lot of “didnt” instead of “didn’t”. But a pretty damn fine read so far. Very bleak, almost harrowing, and made all the stronger by its stripped down presentation.
My New Lamp
Cool Metal Sculptures!
So, at the weekend I was in Carlow and there were these two pieces on show at the mall. they are made out of all sorts of metal do-hickeys. The Predator’s hair is bicycle chains!
Check it.
I Have No Idea What To Title This Post…
I couldn’t NOT reblog this from Travors. Very powerful. Watch the original ad first, then the new version below.
And all the same cast, too.
Long Weekend
Well, it’s the long weekend. I have three days wherein I can do whatever I please; I can read a classic novel, I can take up scuba diving, I can learn the fine art of Yoga, I can visit a museum, I can take in a brusque stroll through the picturesque countryside in which I live, I can even spend time in the local community trying to find ways to bring a better life to my fellow-man.
Instead I’ll be in sweats, on the PC. Sweet.
Windows 7 News
So, found some interesting Windos 7 news here at the Supersite.
Chief among the tidbits was this:
“Windows 7 will ship far sooner than we previously thought
Remember when Microsoft used to provide guidance about the delivery of Windows Vista and then routinely miss those dates over an embarrassing three-year span? This time around, the company has been very careful to repeat the same mantra about the Windows 7 ship date: “About three years after the general availability of Windows Vista.” This puts the release on or about January 2010. However, expect Microsoft to ship Windows 7 well before that date. In fact, I expect it to ship by the end of summer 2009 at the latest, just in time to make a dramatic impact on the holiday 2009 selling season.”
Yay.
It’s Star Trek, Jim, but not as we know it
Tuesday!
It’s upon us again. Another Tuesday. Yup. Interesting.
(OK, I have nothing to blog about)
My New Blog
So I have started a new blog here. It’s called Freaky Jesus.
Why don’t you all stop over (both of you!) and add your freaky-jesus moments to it!!
