Now THAT’S Entertainment!

“I’ve discovered…trying to read a manual while tumblr is open behind it is like trying to read a manual in the same room as naked ladies covered in chocolate on unicycles reenacting random star wars scenes to a speed metal sound track”

I’d pay handsomely to see that.

Cold As Hell. Again

with 2 comments

So, this morning I went out to bring my daughter to her horse-riding class (which was cancelled due to the brrrr-factor), and got this nifty picture which I think is a: pretty and b: indicitve of just how freakin’ cold it was!
Yes, that was once a spider web. That’s serious cold.

Then I went to buy some Christmas Decorations. I can’t rememeber what this was exactly, but I took a shot of the box because, well… Ok is it just me, or does this look a bit… welll yanno…

New Ludacris Album

with 2 comments

I’m a fan of rap. There. I said it. I can’t stand your Puff Daddy Diddy Ps, and your Notorious F.A.T.s or even your whats-that-other-dead-guys-name…But I always enjoyed the genre, and knew one day I’d find a particular rapper I do like. Several years ago, that rapper turned out to be Ludacris. I first sat watching the video for Get Back for the curvy women in it, but found myself digging the song. I got the album (Red Light District) and loved it, too. When he then came back with Release Therapy, I decided I loved Red Light District enough to check it out, and although some of my actual favourite songs were on Red Light District, I actually thought Release Therapy was an even better album.
So, I was quite excited to realise there was another one since then! I got it yesterday and am half way though in the car as we speak (I love close to work so don’t get more than maybe half an album played as I drive most days. Side one, if you will.)
theater-of-the-mind
This one is Theater (or Theatre if you’re spelling it the old (correct) way) Of The Mind. So far so pretty damn good.
Along the way i also downloaded his first three albums but haven’t really listened to them yet. I think part of the problem is I really enjoy rap while I drive, and with those three being on my PC, I don’t feel the rap groove coming upon my soul. So I might just burn them and see how they feel as I cruise in my low rida (Suzuki SUV).
We Out. (I’m SO down with da homies)

Ok, so maybe it wasn’t quite this bad, but my car’s dash reported -3 degrees as i drove to work this morning, and that’s still pretty mother-humping bad!

If I had a Bruce-related wish, (other than to have him teach me some guitar licks!!), it’d be to have him record a studio version of this and put it out. Bruce, if you’re reading this…. :-)

Even Sarah Palin Wasn’t THIS bad

with one comment

You can tell she had three or four things she HAD to mention to sound smart and well-informed… too bad the question had nothing to do with any of them.
This is the kind of thing that makes you weep for the future.

Windows 7 Screenshots

This this looks smoking hot (but then, i don’t get out much). This is the new show desktop effect.

windows7

The thumbnails that appear over the taskbar when you hover are now clickable.

And the launchers and switchers on the taskbar are now all one, so no more quick launch, instead you can drag shortcuts into the taskbar and they can be used to launch the application, and also to switch back to it once running. It’s similar to the Dock applications out there at present.
MS are saying they have changed the way they are building it this time. Rather than build everything from the ground up and bring them all up to a work-able state, instead nothing goes in to this version unless it is already complete, which means really it could be released any time because at any given stage, every feature in there works, it just doesn’t have all features in there yet. And best of all, it’s looking like a 2009 release!
